AT:LAST is committed to providing individuals with disabilities and people working with them the essential training needed to utilize assistive technology in all environments including home, school and work.

Come discover how to identify, review, and implement specially designed apps for Autism.
Category areas will include but are not limited to communication, behavior management, sensory integration, learning, and social communication.
Registration limited to 16 participants. Session runs 9:30 am - 3:30 pm.

Our Presenters:
Lisa Brodjieski, M.S., CCC-SLP
Lisa is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with over nine years of experience servicing the pediatric population in separate public day schools, non-profit and private sectors. Lisa has worked with individuals exhibiting a wide range of disabilities and is current with the industry’s latest trainings and AT/augmentative communication programs. She obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study from Johns Hopkins University in Information Technology for Social Communication (Assistive Technology) in 2007. She has provided numerous lectures and trainings on the use of 'apps' for communication and special education for parents, educators and practitioners, is actively involved with the Howard County Autism Society and an associate with AT:LAST, Inc.
Linda Burkhart
Linda is an internationally known pioneer in the field of simplified technology for children with severe challenges. She has developed numerous adapted switches and innovative strategies for using these devices with children. She is the author of a number of books and software titles on topics of assistive technology and augmentative communication. Linda was a classroom teacher for fifteen years. Then for eight years, she worked as an Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology Specialist for the Center for Technology in Education - a joint project between the Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland State Department of Education. Currently, Linda works as a private consultant and technology integration specialist.
Linda Carman
Linda Carman is an experienced teacher of the deaf, teacher of girls with Rett Syndrome, and a conference presenter focusing on assistive technology and developing communication strategies. Her degrees are in Mathematics, Psychology, Secondary Education and Deaf Education. For several years Linda managed the Health and Human Services’ contract providing disability accommodation for their employees nationwide. Through her company, Laetare Solutions, she has provided high and low tech products, trainings and support to families and professionals for the past 20 years.
BJ Gallagher, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
BJ has worked with AT:LAST, Inc./Maryland AT Cooperative since its inception. In June 2007, BJ retired as the Team Leader for the Assistive Technology Team in Baltimore City Public Schools. Shortly thereafter she moved to Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County and opened a private practice working with children and adults in the rural Western Maryland counties. Currently, BJ teaches graduate courses for McDaniel College, College of Notre Dame, and Johns Hopkins University. She provides expertise supporting individuals with oral and written communication assistive technology needs.
